move your {lee} // the american dream denim

it’s hard to truly explain in words how amazing this day was!  my bestie, amanda, and i woke up extra early to experience the first snow {of the day} in brooklyn.  it was beautiful so definitely worth it & we felt extra productive with the entire day ahead of us.  we grabbed cappuccinos, split an almond croissant and strolled through our favorite neighborhood.  these are the best kind of days.  even though my east coast fox & i were totally twinning, we actually have very different style.  and i love that!  but one thing we can always agree on is the necessity of a great pair of black jeans.  these “dream jeans” from lee honestly feel like cozy leggings on the inside, but they have enough durability to dress up any outfit.  we ended up spending the entire day in them, including alyssa‘s birthday party over 12 hours later.  i love something that can transition from day to night… it’s so important in new york since we’re always on the go!

big city of dreams // the {brooklyn} shirt

as you probably already know, i’m obsessed with new york city and everything it has to offer.  one of my favorite things about the city is that you can explore every single day and stumble upon something new… a new restaurant, an unfamiliar street, a unique view.  on this day in soho we stumbled upon an amazing mural from tristan eaton.  it took my breath away & the situation could not have been more perfect.  coincidentally enough, my top is called “the brooklyn shirt” [my second favorite borough ;)].  & no, i don’t follow the white after labor day rule, not even a little bit.

messy bun // {dressy} bun

not many things make me feel like a princess [with the exception of my crown in my Indianapolis 500 Princess days!, #TBT].  however i have stumbled upon an accessory that allows me to kick it up to princess status on a regular basis.  when i saw the beautiful Becca Tilley effortlessly wearing a bun pin in her hair, i knew i had to have one.  stars, they’re just like us.  speaking of stars, i’m wearing the “beyond the stars” bun pin from my kitsch.  as you can see, it can also be a pony pin!  either way, it dresses up & is guaranteed to impress.

{boho} in bushwick

photo2

according to wikipedia [i know, i know – reliable source], boho-chic is a style of fashion drawing on various bohemian and hippie influences.  that, i totally agree with.  but for me, “boho” is more than a style of fashion, it’s an attitude.  when i wear a boho-chic dress, like this flowy beauty from h&m, i suddenly feel different.  much more relaxed, much more easy going & free spirited, and much more cool.  i’m all about outfits that release & attract those good vibes.

elevated // {graffiti} diaries

don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love new york city.  but sometimes the city streets can be a scary place… filled with rats, old pizza, & cigarettes.  my recent shoe purchases provide a functional yet stylish solution: flatforms!  sandals or sneakers, i love the elevation & comfortability.  a little michael jackson sass goes a long way!

stand out // with {city seat}

I recently discovered a fresh & functional new brand, City Seat.  I had to share this with you guys because they’re born & bred in Brooklyn, made in America, and can make our daily lives just a little bit easier.  My favorite part about it?  The personalization.  Right now, they’re the only personalized bike seat cover on the market.  To quote Ian from What A Girl Wants, “why fit in when you were born to stand out?”  Word, Ian.  Check it out below.
